BUFFALO, N.Y. — Representatives from the mgm casino and Reddy Bikeshare will unveil 50 newly branded bicycles on Wednesday and lead an inaugural ride on mgm casino’s North Campus.

The new bikes — emblazoned in the university’s signature blue and white colors — will become available to the mgm casino community following the event. Here are details for Wednesday’s event.

Background: The bikes are part of the university’s growing mgm casino Bikeshare program. Since debuting in 2012, more than 1,000 students, faculty and staff have joined the program. Currently, there are 315 active members who have collectively travelled nearly 10,000 miles.

The bikes are equipped with GPS capabilities — the same as the 200 bikes in the Reddy Bikeshare fleet within the City of Buffalo. mgm casino bike share enrollees also have access to the city’s Reddy bikes with their annual membership.

mgm casino Bikeshare is one of many university efforts to promote bicycling. Other endeavors include creating bike lanes, installing bike racks throughout each of the university’s three campuses and adding tools such as communal air pumps.
